About
Thejas Mirle (b. 2004) is fascinated with telling stories through sound and transporting his audience to new worlds.
His music has been performed across the United States by the IU Symphony Orchestra, Dal Niente, CORVUS Ensemble, the IU Ballet Department, UCLA Extension, and the Troy High Symphonic Band, Jazz Ensemble, Trumpet Choir, and Marching Band. His choral work, The Sighing Mists was a winning composition in Indiana University's NOTUS competition, and his concert band piece, A Christmas Wish has received numerous honors including recognition from the Royal Oak Musicale. His music has been featured at the Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival and Hidden Valley Music Seminars.
His Concerto for Orchestra Electronica draws on his work as both composer and computer scientist, treating electronica as a full member of the orchestra, capable of profound expression and an avenue to new sonic terrain. Beautiful, textural, and kinetic, it imagines a concert music that is adventurous and inviting to new audiences.
Thejas is also the founder and CEO of Jambo Studios LLC, composing award-winning music for film and media projects with audiences worldwide.
He is currently studying Music Composition and Computer Science with a minor in Electronic Music at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. He counts celebrated composers and musicians Don Freund, P.Q. Phan, Gabriel Jenks, David Dzubay, Ian Krouse, Susan Mutter, Gordon Simmons, and Brian Nutting among his teachers.
