About
Thejas Mirle (b. 2004) loves telling stories through music. He is fascinated with creating narratives through sound and transporting his audience to new worlds. He has collaborated with performers and ensembles including the IU Symphony Orchestra, IU Ballet Department, CORVUS ensemble, UCLA Extension, Troy High School Symphonic Band, Jazz Ensemble, Trumpet Choir, and Marching Band.
His choir piece, The Sighing Mists, was selected as a winning composition in the annual IU NOTUS competition. His concert band piece, A Christmas Wish, won numerous awards including recognition by the Royal Oak Musicale, the Troy High School Leonard Bernstein Musicianship Award, and the Patrick S. Gilmore Award. During the summer of 2023, he was a featured composer at the Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival and the Composing in the Wilderness program.
He is also the founder and CEO of Jambo Studios LLC, writing award-winning music for various films and projects reaching audiences worldwide. Thejas counts celebrated composers and musicians Ian Krouse, Don Freund, PQ Phan, and Han Lash, Susan Mutter, Gordon Simmons, and Brian Nutting among his teachers. He is currently studying Music Composition and Computer Science at the Jacobs School of Music.
